strangely, all of a sudden, many frens are leaving town. out of my hometown.
yesterday, an ex-colleague.
today, a poly buddy.
then next month, another buddy.
suddenly, everyone's leaving.... ranging from a few months, to a few years.
went to the airport early this morning.
was some sort prepared to see those mushy, soapy scenes.. reluctant to part, coupled with lots of hugs and kisses from frens, in this case, no siblings, but especially from my fren's parents.
well, turned out to be the total opposite.
no tears. no red eyed glances nor silent snifflings.
basically, everyone was just cracking up with jokes and laughing. it's during such occasions, u get to meet fren's frens, fren's circle of frens, relatives, colleagues, ex-colleagues. suddenly, everyone gets to know everyone else, and in the end, we all just come together.
who really likes to be caught in the situation of sadness. i guess deep down, we all understand each other, so instead of empty moments, we tend to be more spirited, and animated than any other times, and leave behind good memories, whether or not it's any deliberate attempt to hide the sorrow.
i remember about 4 years ago the scenario was quite a different one with another fren.
we have all changed a lot already. guess i did too, with or without knowing. and we've grown up to handle these situations better too.
and when it's finally time to disperse, everyone waves a hand and goes their own ways..
but
2 hrs later.
i realised we both forgot something.
hey, liyan. keep the vcd. maybe u can get the flight stewardess to play it for u on your personal screen when u're bored in the plane. the SQ stewardess should be really warm and friendly. though it's not mine (ops), but dun worry about returning. the airmail charges might probably cost more than if i were to buy a new one. erm.. saying we both forgot.. this is considered a valid reason rite? hahahh.. see u back 3 years later.
